Flag-raising Ceremony
There's a very important ceremony will be held on the Tiananmen Square every early morning before the sunrise. It's called as Flag-raising ceremony. When the ceremony starts, a group of guards of honor(composed by the military soldiers) will march out of the Tian'an men(the Gate of Heavenly peace, used to be the entrance to the Imperial city),and put the flag up on the flag-pole in the northern end of the Tian'an men Square. The ceremony will last about 10-15 minutes only, but it attracts hundreds or thousands visitors every early morning, especially during these important days and festivals, such as on May 1st (Internationa l Labor day),on Oct 1st (National day), every New year, and China 's New Year as well.

Tour Schedule:
Hotel pick-up 30 minutes ahead of the Flag-raising Ceremony by our tour guide & private car/van. After viewing the ceremony, go around the Tiananmen Square -the largest square in the world. Visit the Chairman Mao's Mausoleum (if accessible) and Ming City Wall Relic Park. And transfer back to your hotel.
Note: For the political reasons, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum would close to the public without prior notice. If that so, we will arrange a park or garden to substitute this site. In addition, please dress formally when you visit Chairman Mao's Mausoleum. Those people who wear shorts or slippers was not allowed to go into the building. Any bag and camera was not allowed to take in either, you may leave them to your guide; she/he will help you to take good care of them.

Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall is closed temporarily from March 1 to March 20 due to annual equipment maintenance.
